COVID-19
The following steps are taken to help us all to stay safe:
1. In line with guidance (September 2021), I take a Lateral Flow Test twice per week. Should an LFT ever yield a positive result, I will follow government guidelines and self-isolate. I will immediately contact parents so that visits can be postponed.
2. Tuition sessions are set two hours apart to allow for sanitisation of the classroom. All surfaces, chairs and writing materials are sanitised using disinfectant spray and wipes.
3. The classroom is kept well ventilated either during tuition sessions or between sessions.
4. The wearing of facemasks is a matter for parental choice. I do not insist on them. I am happy to wear a facemask if a child or parent would prefer.
5. There is a toilet near the classroom which is available for children’s use, if needed. This room is sanitised after each use.
6. Children must have their temperatures taken (using a remote thermometer) before they enter the premises.
7. Children are asked to use hand sanitiser on entry to the premises.
If your child or anyone in your household has any symptoms of COVID-19, please let me know in advance of the tuition session. We can easily rearrange and any payments will be reimbursed.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Your child’s safety and welfare is my top priority.
1. Please inform me of any medical issues, allergies etc. that might be relevant to your child’s welfare during tuition.
2. Please ensure that your child has any equipment (e.g. inhaler, Epipen etc.) that might be needed.
3. Please let me have a contact number in the unlikely event that there is an emergency.
4. We have two very docile cats on the premises. Please let me know if your child has an allergy to cats.
5. Parking is available on the driveway. There is a gravel drive and a pathway. Please take care not to trip, especially in poor weather.
6. The classroom is accessed via the front porch and hallway. This area is kept clean and free from any trip hazards.
7. There is a toilet near the classroom which is available for children’s use, if needed. This room is sanitised after each use.
Please make me aware of any matters that might be relevant to your child’s welfare in advance of the tuition session.

Data is kept by James Green Tuition® solely for the purpose of providing effective tuition and facilitating contact with children’s parents.
The following data is kept by James Green Tuition®:
1. A record of the child’s name as well as contact details for parents / carers (e.g. phone number, email address, home address if relevant).
2. Details of the work covered during the tuition session. This is to allow James Green to effectively plan and prepare further tuition and assess children’s progress.
3. This data is kept securely on computer and only accessed by James Green. It is not shared with anyone else. The only reason it would be shared would be if there was a request by a parent or if there was a safeguarding concern (see Safeguarding policy).
SAFEGUARDING
I have an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure & Barring Service which is available for inspection. This is the same level of check required for any teacher working with children.
In line with requirements, I have a Safeguarding Policy.
